Anyone on here fish the main lake for line sides? I’m interested to hear what tactics y’all are using in the winter time stripers, hybrids, and even Whites?

Jigging spoons are hard to beat if you have good electronics. Trolling crankbaits is another good tactic and allows you to cover a ton of water looking for fish. Shad are always good, but require a lot more work. The fishing was pretty good right after Christmas, but the flooding conditions have turned the lake to red clay and major debris.

Thanks for the advise. I thought you stayed up river year round? I got hooked on the hybrids in the river last yr. and with the hunting as slow as it is, I’m trying to find other hobbies.

Seen they had a big sewer leak up stream again. I wish they would do more to hold the metro area accountable for what gets dumped in the hooch up stream of westpoint.

It is really sad and unfortunately has been going on since the lake was impounded. I love how Cobb County reiterates that their drinking water is still clean while all this is going on. Must be nice...sure isn't downstream where you are dumping all of your crap. Nice of them to care about everyone else!!

Aside from that...

Cousin and I hit the lake yesterday evening. The stripers and hybrids were in chew down mode. We caught 30+ in a couple hours. Birds gave most of them away. We did damage on jigging spoons deep and small swimbaits when pushed shad shallow as it got dark.

I may try to get out there this Saturday am. Even though it’s going to be cold as heck. I hate to hear we are having to deal with Atlanta’s waste issues again. All the trash that comes out of their storm drains is bad enough, but the doodoo needs to be dealt with.

The Corp needs to sue Atlanta over the litter that polluted the river around franklin. It’s sickening the number of water bottles and tennis balls that sit in coves from ringer north.
