West side meet and greets…

Yeah, I've heard that my whole life but I personally don't know anyone who went from weed to the illegal hard stuff, but I don't kinda live a sheltered life...
I've seen a lot of it. Just sayin. You did ask. That's a lot of what's wrong with this country. Just what I've seen

Big Pharma is what's wrong with this country. I don't disagree that a lot of dopers smoke weed but there's a difference between someone who only smoke or eats weed. I wouldn't even discuss it except that there's a lot of good guys who only use weed.
Either way, thanks for being a straight shooter and having this chat.

For those that made it out there today….lets look at a February meet…good food, and good people…we have 1st, 8th, 15th, or 22nd Saturday's… if another day of the week would be better, let me know…
February is a bit tight for us, 1st is Carol's birthday, 8th is her sisters birthday and we will be in Jacksonville from the 20th to the 26th. March would be better for us as of right now every Saturday is open. I'm retired so usually have weekdays open too but most of you are much younger then us so you probably aren't retired yet.

Bottom line we had a great time today. The place was great, not overly crowded and the service was excellent and the food was darn good (got to love those Hickory Taters with pork BBQ) but the soup was looking good too and the BBQ sandwiches were looking great and smelling really good too.

Again thanks geezer geezer I know it can be a pain in the butt putting it together hand hanging yourself out there if no one shows so we really appreciate it.

I can see some being that way, but not everyone. I have 3 or 4 really close friends who've been smoking weed for 20 to 30 years, instead of opioids and Xanax, never missed work, never gotten into any trouble with the law. Anything can be abused but God gives us everything we need for the issues we face. Yes there's a time and place for strong(er) medication and even those can be taken without abuse.
It really doesn't matter to us what folks do in the privacy of their own home. I am not happy about folks smoking weed but that's a prejudice I came out of the Air Force with. During my 23 years active and the last 10 or so as a Senior NCO I got tapped to observe "Golden Flow" collection on a regular basis along with getting tapped to provide more often than I wanted to so when someone popped positive I had to stand at the Courts Martial and swear and affirm that while I don't remember that specific urine, coming out of that specific penis, in to that specific collection bottle, I observed them all the same way, all the time and in every instance I observed that specific action. I saw a lot of really good operators, folks with the highest levels of clearances (Top Secret with SBI) and up to and including folks who were close to retirement, lose their jobs, their clearances and were usually ushered out of the service post haste. I saw it too much and saw the results of the effects on them and their families to be OK with it now. It's something that was ingrained in me and I probably will never shake it. I don't do it and I don't have to watch anyone pee anymore so it's fine but understand while I won't ever be able to approve of doing it.

I'm usually too straight laced for most. It usually rubs someone the wrong way at some point. At this point, I'm OK with that.

The only real thing that we have in common is the AIR we breathe!

I have a letter in my night stand from the VA that says in paraphrase:

Dear Mr. Edog537,

I am sorry but we killed you between 1990-1996 or there about. You haven’t died yet so we’re sending a payment every month. Have a great day.
Thank you for your service.

I have had one of my colleagues die 5/20/2024 and an Army Blackhawk guy I ran into(We were at the same places at the same times) died in 2023.

I am going to do whatever the **** I want to do.
