Wet tumbling 223

Any idea what happened to this brass? Three are hornady, one PMC, and one Winchester. It was in with the clean brass. Any ideas? It is not magnetic.

the nickel coating got worn off, I have 38 special cases, that are half nickel and half brass from being reloaded and polished so many times.

Curious, I'd love to see one under a magnifying glass. Saw something similar on some cases that were actually black nickel coated and that coating started wearing off pretty quickly in the wet tumbling process. They ended up looking, ummmmmm, not great cosmetically. Functionally, no issues.

That was mostly 308 though......haven't run across any 223 like that and I've polished a few full buckets lately.

Are you using lemi-shine? I've seen some people mention that if you use too much it can make the brass look weird.

I did but all the brass in that picture was done in the same batch.
