I use steel pins and citric acid.

I have tried other cleaners and the brass looks great at first but turns dark in a few weeks. One nice thing about Dawn and a small amount of lemi shine is that the brass does not turn dark for a long time. I never tried car wax like some people since I do not have a problem with tarnishing.

Pins yes, I replaced the 1/4 teaspoon of lemi shine with a splash of the Hornady Sonic Brass cleaner concentrate and it drastically reduced my tumble time by 80%

I use brass juice and lemi-shine. Then I tumble it in cob with nu-finish in it.

I did as well for a while but out of curiosity I tried the Hornady stuff and it’s got citric acid in it as well

I was going to guess that it was just some overpriced common chemicals, but seemingly not:

Dipropylene Glycol Propyl Ether
Isopropylamine Dodecylbenzenesulfonate
d-Limonene
Cocoamide DEA
Pine Oil
Diethanolamine
Petroleum Oil 4240

75-85% water though. They could sell a concentrate.

It is concentrated and says to use 1/2 ounce to 20 ounces of water (as directed using a sonic cleaner for like 350 seconds per run)

How much for a quart

I paid around $20 for it at a local shop, seeing it on Amazon for a little more.

The stuff I’m using is the brass cleaner not the gun parts cleaner.

Get a bigger tumbler like a cement mixer. I tumbler around 7k in an hour.

I’m loading 3 and shooting 1... I never seem to run low using this method
