Pump shotguns suck.
I'd rather have a M1 carbine than a SKS/AK.
Just because you have "X" gun doesn't make you a badass.
If you are a prepper/survivalist your education and physical fitness are more important than anything you can buy.

Steel guns are easier to shoot. If it is too heavy to carry get a better belt.

Everything 90% of people need to do with a gun can be done with a 12 gauge shotgun, 30-06 bolt action, 1911 and a .22 revolver.

I know people prone to violent outbursts/depressive episodes who prob should not own weapons and support circumstances where firearms rights should be considered alongside mental health.

Carried a revolver for years, a 5-shot S&W. Didn't worry about capacity; just accuracy . Took a NRA course a few weeks ago, and read a stat that over 80% of violent robberies/encounters/etc have at least 2 assailants. If true, that'll make you revisit capacity...
