What can you tell me about this Case knife?

A widow found this in her husband's desk. It's a 4" blade and is 8 1/2" overall. I think it is a common pattern but the handle is unusual. It's a multi-color plastic (?) material. The knife isn't in great condition as you can see and the handle has a crack in it. The only marking is CASE.

Anything you can tell me about it would be appreciated.
Does it have any collector value?

That is not like any CASE marking i have ever seen. As far as Case knives go anyway.
Of course, i do not claim to know everything about Case knives....i damned sure didnt stay at n Holiday Inn last night either.

Does the bottom of the C make line under the ASE?
If that isn't something wrapped around the handle it is probably celluloid. Hard to tell from the picture.

It was only used on fixed blades.

The marking is just a simple CASE, no "tail" on the "C".
Handle material may be celluloid but I can't find any reference to this color.
There is no wrapping on the handle.

Yeah, looks like a celluloid handle. Can only find one picture of one like it. A lot of the belly has been worn off from sharpening.
I would just sharpen it and put it to work.
