Is it any wonder that such as this has transpired because we have so many city, county, state, and federal officials that are as corruupt and ignorant of their duties as the hundreds of "Representatives" in D.C. that are actually representing other and their own interests for monetary gain!
These airplane owners don't actually need an airport - all they need is permission from a land owner to land in his field. I remember in the late 1950's flying with my brother to our small north GA hometown that didn't have an airport one weekend, but had a friendly farmer that skipped planting about 10 rows of corn so people could fly in and out. Unfortunately we didn't get away till after sundown and Mom had to park at the end of the field and shine her headlights down the corn rows so we could see to take off. Never did that but once!
Nobody knows where 75% of these planes are, who owns them, or what they might be used for. Think 9/11 times 750. Apparently Homeland Security is very concerned.
