Always late to the party, I want to try a Browning Hi Power. I don't want to drop a grand, and I don't want a used one. Tisas makes a clone. I don't have any experience with Tisas, and haven't seen a customer review other than right out of the box, no rounds fired. I have seen mixed reviews on their 1911s, though. Do any of you have first hand experience with their products? I'm not worried about out-of-the-box reliability, as I don't intend to carry it any time soon. Just overall build quality. I can also have it tuned, if need be.

Tisas is not top of the line for sure. Never tried the one your wanting. But l did own one for a bit It was a good shooter. Never had a single problem with it.

The average used Browning or FN Hi-Power is a better-built gun than a brand new Tisa.

Dad came across a BDM: I was unfamiliar with them until this one.

Not bad for $425.

I really like the High Power clone and so far they seem to be getting good reviews. It shoots as well as my 1930's S. American police version and is a lot nicer. Plus, from everything I've seen it's 100% parts compatible with the older-pattern Browning guns, unlike the 'clones' .

It's definitely not going to be the same quality as a 'real' High Power, but it's at least as good as say, the FEG guns. Plus, it's parts-compatible with the older HPs from everything I've seen, so you could upgrade anything you felt needed it without much problem.

I had a two-tone BDM for a while. Neat guns. They made a version that was decock-only........I’d love to find one for a decent price.

Thanks.
I don't intend to go to war with it. I have Glocks and Sigs, should that become necessary.
I'd likely use it as a range gun, and just make a few modifications for function as needed. I've been there, done that with many different styles of firearm, over the years, just never a Hi Power.
