I had a 420 for a while, just a great car from a previous era.My brother owned a Jaguar 420 Compact 4.2 which you don't see around much these days. They were pretty unusual even in the 1970's just after they were discontinued.
Great car. Reliable with two exceptions.
Gas tank rust (fortunately, had 2 gas tanks), and they were easy - if not cheap - to replace.
Lucas electronics. I'll say no more.

perzactlyThey’re owned by Tata, an Indian company, just to throw that out there. I’ve never had an interest to own one. Expensive and unreliable is not my favorite combo. Many of their classic models were absolutely beautiful though.

One of my bosses has a Dodge Journey and it's almost paid for. They probably STILL can't trade out of it. Before it was Stellantis they made WAY too many vehicles every year. The Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealers in Macon and Warner Robins were both owned by a notorious sweat shop outfit called Five Star. Anyway back then if you went to their lots and wanted to test drive something they might have to move three other vehicles just to get to it. They were covered up with vehicles and out of space. That means that company wide the same thing was happening. That also means that way more of their vehicles wound up in rental fleets than any other brand. And that alone is the kiss of death for resale value.Like Stellantis thats dropping like a rock.....
