What is your number?

If a person tries to rob you (presumably at gunpoint) they have decided their own life is worth what you have in your possession that they want. My life doesn't have a pre determined value but if a gun is pulled on me and I have a two dollar bill in my pocket, the bidding starts at two dollars...

So you are doing a transaction.... at what item value do you pull your pistol out if the other person is trying to rob you?

At what item value do you pull the trigger?
Based on the responses, and the fact this isn't in "stupid stuff" perhaps I'm misreading your questions. Are you actually asking how much of a low ball offer from a buyer it takes before people draw their weapon and/or fire?

This is exactly how I read the OP. Low ballers and neckbeards are aggravating, but I can think of a whole lot other people that need shooting first.

It was a "loaded" question... I do buy and sell on here and craigslist... I never have had anyone try anything.... I am a firm believer in only pulling a weapon if you are in a situation that would require you to use it... danger to your life or your family's life... IMHO, if someone pulled a gun on me, they created that situation, without considering item value. Now my reaction would be based on the situation... I would consider a variety of variables going forward.... did the thief get the drop on me?.... Complete game changer if I have the opportunity to defend myself or not. As pointed out, are there others involved at a distance? etc.... Nothing to do with low-ballers.... I discus a price before we meet.... if they play games, I walk out of principle....

Then I completely missed your point about "item value' that you mentioned twice in the OP.
Should be a short discussion then. We use lethal force when possible to protect our lives or that of others.

I was in New Hampshire about 16 years ago driving my car around 7 pm in the fall it was dark out both lanes merged to 1 on a side street with some construction I kind of cut the guy off not aggressively just kind of took control. About a mile up the rd he cuts in front of me and jumps out moving quickly towards me my window was up so I cracked it to hear his words he was speaking with a stern voice not yelling he said
"You shouldn't drive like an asshole what if my kids were crossing the street?" Then he kinda calmed down his hands were both in the open he said man it's people like you that kill people. He seemed calmed down so I lowered my window and put my hand out saying " hey man your right, I'm sorry" he says "****ing right your sorry as he drew a pistol from his waist band, I immediately started shaking and my eyes started watering (crying) he goes right back to red faced and angry he said "don't forget there are people like me on the rd" and jams his pistol into my cheek.
Puts the pistol back in the front pocket of his sweatshirt and returned to his car. Now people can say whatever they want, they were not there unless you train and practice for these situations you **** YOUR PANTS!!
I'm older now and my guns not in my glove compartment like it was then.
I can tell you this it is like when people crash there motorcycle and say "I laid it down" no you crashed if you had time to lay it down then you had time to go around it. Why didn't I pull out my gat and bust a cap in him? I've been asked that. Because it all happens to fast. When you feel the cold steel of a pistol barrel on your cheek and the guy is shaking mad with his finger on the trigger, you $hit your pants, I promise
