What Makes the ODT Gun Show & Swap Meets Different?

I’ve been to Cobb three times and I am going to go to the Macon show too. The way I see it is if I want to do something, I don’t mind driving. It’s just one day of your life. Cobb is an hour and half and Macon is two hours.

Thanks for putting these shows together for us, I’ve had nothing but great experiences at each.

If I’m in town I’ll be making the trip down from North Georgia, the ODT shows are the best thing going. It’s extremely nice they haven’t gone to pot like every other gun show I’ve ever been to.
The first three shows have been absolutely great.
The pictures are from the last couple shows. It is absolutely great getting to know the members in person, and I for one really appreciate the show staying as “ODT centric” as possible. It’s members showing up with their junk and having their hearts right to actually let go of some stuff, and get some new junk to take home.

Well, at the Marietta show, the marquee said gun show. Also, since gun shows ha e been held there at least for the last 20 years, it was relatively easy to figure out.

Also, since very few threads are closed to public view, any non member can see the post about the show. So, there's a few reasons already and I know you ha e turned people away at the first show or pushed them to become members that day.

Yes we did.
Yeah that's definitely true of Marietta but I was referring to Macon, there's no sign and no history of recent shows at this venue that I am aware of.

People want these to be like the first event where I turned people away but we also sold out in advance. Nowadays I can't get people to buy in advance so I can either accept payment at the door or just stop doing the shows altogether.

Last I drove by it had a sign, So I guess you asked not to advertise on there? There hasn't been a show in 8 years, at least. The venue would best answer those questions though.

Wasn't it the first show where you had not only ODT dealers but outsider's as well? I remember a few dealers with lots of tables and even a gutter guy there too. Maybe that's why you sold out, you know, allowing outside vendors. I remember some complaints though about those I mentioned.

It's hard to please everyone. I know the struggle of trying to pick a different or other venue.

Maybe opening it up to "outside" dealers. I haven't been to a FFL or Pawn shop that doesn't have at least one employee on ODT, even if not as active as most, so are they really "outsider's "?

No jerky or gutter or trash jewelry guys but guns, crap for guns, maybe some survival and camping.

But being the first show in Macon in years, it's hard to say what would bring in the crowds. And given the apparently low turn out so far and the low turn out last show, maybe it appears a one and only yearly ODT show is all that the site supports, sure seems that way with cancelinglate year shows. Time will tell of course.

I meant that there's not a sign that says there is a gun show there, did you see one?

I've always done the tables the same way, the only change was after the first show I restricted exhibition booths. The owner of the gutter company was actually a member of the site. I've never posted anything outside of this site to get vendors or attendees.

When I say sold out I was referring to tickets and not vendors.

I agree that we will probably only do one show a year going forward and it will probably be in Marietta.

I didn't see a advertisement on the Macon show. I have seen it in on the Marietta show though.

So you did change some rules about the tables/Booths? Lol

There are actually a few members that own a gutter company; explains a lot about the posts on here. ;)

Maybe once a year in different locations throughout GA. Or maybe do small Swap meets throughout GA instead of a "large" gun show. :pray2:
