What Percentage of ODT Buyers refuse to Buy from a Seller who requires a Bill of Sale, DL or CCW

Well, it’s illegal to sell to a person across state lines…. So the Seller might get some protection if the Buyer affirms he is a GA resident (and you see a DL or CCW). The CCW would allow good faith you didn’t sell to a felon.

Law enforcement has done sting operations with gun stores and pawn shops from time to time, but I haven’t seen any news of them targeting sites like ODT.

As for the Poll, the purpose was to see what percentage of ODT buyers you lose when you check the BOS required and/or ask for DL and CCW. It’s not to judge. It’s not to advocate, though the comments on both sides have been educational.

The original BOS will protect the first buyer. It's simple logic and common sense.

There are also plenty of people who can legally purchase firearms that don’t want a carry permit. I’m one of those people. Castle law lets me keep it in the truck and I only carry on person while at work (my property, my business) and while hunting (again my own property). Maybe I’ll get a permit one day but for the time being I don’t see any need.

Although I agree with you on where you can carry, and fully understand what you are saying, I think it is important to point out for others that may not know.

Castle law has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that you are allowed to carry in your motor vehicle, without a license.

You are allowed to carry in your motor vehicle, without a license, because the State of Georgia passed a law many years ago that says you can.

O.C.G.A. 16-11-126 (a) is the code section that states why you are allowed to carry in your motor vehicle.

Again, I understand what you are saying, and I am sure most others do as well, but for the sake of those that do not know, I would like to let them know the exact reason they can carry in their motor vehicle, and not go around telling folks they can carry because of a Castle law defense or the ever popular "My car is an extension of my home" nonsense.

Yep, and therein lies the flaw in a BOS.
Unless you go to the trouble of having it witnessed by 3rd parties, or notarized, it ain't worth the paper it's written on.

Let’s seeeeeee……. Give my personal information and my signature to someone that I have no idea how secure they will be with it after having my info stolen twice and all the headaches that followed.
