what was the absolute best deal you ever got on a gun

Bought a like new stainless 10/22 at a yard sale for $10.00. Needed a new buffer pin
Got a rg. 25 auto with a box of ammo for a dollar from a woman who I helped move her mom into a nursing home. Weapons wernt allows there and she didn't want the hassle of flying it home. She also gave me the tear gas pen her mom had taped to her headboard. I bet mom was a hoot back in the day.

Ten years ago I bought a single-shot Savage .22 bolt action rifle at a pawn shop for $45.
But, it turns out the thing often did light strikes on the rims. Was only 75% reliable ignition.
I thought it was a great deal at the time.

I'd say that Norinco MAK-90s for $199 were the best deal I ever got.
I bought two of them in the middle 1990s.
Smooth actions, but canted sights, terrible ill-fitting wood stocks that felt like grabbing a fence post, inaccurate. But reliable and cheap. Ammo was 5 cents a shot (corrosive, Chi-com) and magazines were $10 each. $40 for a $75 round drum.
