In 1995 I had a guy come in the gun store I worked at to sell or trade his Dad’s Colt Python; made in 1973, in the box unfixed with papers and original receipt, 2.5” barrel, Royal Blue finish, checkered walnut grips.

His Dad had passed and he wanted a gun for home defense, stating that he couldn’t seriously defend himself with a “cowboy six-shooter”.

I traded him even up for a brand new Ruger P89 with blued finish. At the time we paid $259 for a blued P89.

My boss let me buy the Python from the store for $400.
