What was your first gun you ever purchased?

Smith & Wesson Model 59 9mm when I turned 21...
15 shot with 3 additional factory magazines.
Yep, I still have it. :thumb:

My Dad bought a Browning 9mm after Serpico (in 73 or 74) and He let me ("Ed, don't tell your mother") at 16 shoot it. A dozen plus shots from a pistol was amazing and kind of rare back in the day...
Close as I could come to the Browning at the time was the model #59... my 15 shots to his 14 lol
When he got the Baby Browning .25 I went out & got the Beretta .25 to be like Dad.

Last night, I got to (not had to) help him stand up, get him to the restroom, take off his crocs, change his clothes, help him & Mom into bed, tuck them in, turn off the lights, lock up the house & drive home to my house in tears... They have had a GREAT life, but winding down fast...

James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Model 59 was my first pistol also. I turned 21 at Ft. Knox, KY and went to a gun store and snagged it. Kept it a long time then sold it a few years ago. Good solid reliable pistol.

I had a very generous father who was a gun nut. I didn't purchase one for myself until well into adulthood. I didn't have a shotgun that took anything above 2 3/4" so I bought a Remington 1187 for turkey/waterfowl. Didn't keep it long and replaced it with a Browning Goldhunter.

FTFY :becky:
