As soon as the money for the welfare checks, section 8 housing, free cell phones, heating assistance, unemployment, etc. runs out the "entitled" will go crazy. We will have to call a national emergency, suspend the constitution and enact martial law for the protection of the sheeple by the government. Think that is a stretch? Look at the countries in Europe that are dealing with riots because they don't have the money to continue to provide the government teat for the people to suckle. Beans, bandids and bullets-stack 'em deep.

Tell the lucky winner what he has won...Well, Bob, Undesirables rioting in the streets, mass hysteria, martial law accompanied by food and water shortages... Today you have won a wasr ak-47 to shoot at the "entitled" when they show up on your doorstep demanding you share your supplies that you worked hard and saved for.

But honestly, I believe between what gdog wrote and the national debt with other countries, that will be our downfall. like he said.. stock up on beans and rice, some water, and bullets.

Overstretched and unreliable military...unreliable because it's no longer manned by citizens, but by foreigners and mercenaries.

The one advantage we have over some of those older empires is, believe it or not, the fact that we use fiat paper money rather than real money. When the coffers of the Roman Empire were empty, they couldn't just print more money. They'd raise taxes, confiscate private and church property, etc, but they couldn't just print more. The ability to print more money will give us the illusion of prosperity and stability...for a while. The welfare queens and seasoned citizens will keep getting their gubmint checks every month...but they'll find they're not buying as much today as they did yesterday. When they realize their checks are worthless, that's when the riots will start.

So, what is the world going to do to collect on this debt?

Our ever so helpful government will then disavow all of its obligations, issue new currency and tell everyone (that we have been supporting for free for over 50 years)
to take a hike ... As a "Closed Society" the USA can survive ... Most other countries can't ...

Unfortunately, China will likely disagree with the program ...
