What would you do.?

You've done your part. If you want to be extra kind, communicate one more time and give him a short window to call you back. My experience with "buyers" like that is they are looking for you to give it away, which is why he's behaving the way he is.

I once listed a boat on craigslist. Guy calls me, asks all kinds of questions about the boat, after ten minutes, he tells me he's really not in a position to buy a boat, but wondering if I had any fishing gear I'd like to donate to him.

You said you'd hold it for him.
That was your last conversation with him.
And you want to be a man of your word.

But, did you promise to reserve it for him for any particular amount of time? If he did not put down a down payment and he did not tell you that he would make a payment or pay in full on the certain date, I think the week you've waited is long enough.

I did not give a time frame for holding it. My fault. Did say in text I wanted to move by the weekend. Still no response. The thing that gets me is he lowballed but still didn’t have money to buy. Just want to do the right thing.
