What's a good caliber for Bison?

.30 cal (or larger) with 165gr minimum bullet is specified. Also lead-free (copper) bullets required.
You might want to think about optics...they also mentioned that shots would be out to 300 yds...and beyond if necessary. Gotta put 3 out 5 shots in a 4” circle at 100 yds using whatever field rest you will hunt with.
Maybe take a backup rifle in 7mmSTW or .300WM with a 3-18x VX6HD.

They ain't gonna be watching you the whole time ;) pretty sure I am gonna run a '73 trapdoor in 45/70. That's more than enough gun.

More than 300yds seems awful far of a shot to be taken on a herd that's fairly used to being around people.

I am still gonna apply. Probably won't get it... But I will still try.

Wait a second... Non lead projectile? That's unethical as ****. A solid copper projectile doesn't expand, and has a huge risk of over penetration....

What they don't know won't hurt them in this case... cause that's not ethical hunting. Even with a heart shot, it still is really With a solid projectile.

Leave them alone. Let them overrun the country. One day we'll need them to survive.
