Whats everybody prepping for?

I'm just gettin into prepping, so I'm small potatos. Just bought a house so I can finally start piling up. Started with guns and ammo, now water and food. One step at a time. I'm prepping for social breakdown/race war. I feel that if obamie doesn't get re-elected, its gona be a kill whitey spree...almost started with this trayvon nonsense.
I don't have a bug out bag, but I do have a get home bag incase the SHTF while I'm not home and my car gets stolen, dissabled or highway's get shut down.

Im prepping for the second coming of christ, and how the rest of us left behind are going to be SOL.
Im prepping for The Obomination that has already begun, or civil/social/economical collapse, or tornado,flood,emp,solar flare,nuke,because I get to buy new toys, or simply loss of income etc.......I could go on and on and on the better question is why not to prep! Im prepping because you didnt,come after my supplies and see my surprise!

Our economy has always been driven by cheap energy and most of the country will not even admit that 42 million barrels of oil a day (just the US) is an impossibly unsustainable rate to keep up. We need to have an infrastructure for electric cars set up before we can transition to them and we are no were near that point. When oil production starts steadily decreasing the dollar will take a beating and when the energy return on a barrel of oil reaches 1:1 we better have a plan.
The real kicker is the fact that every is more concerned about it going mad max than they are about how they will feed themselves after their 1-12 month supply of food runs out. I prep by growing a open pollenating garden and having everything I need to continue growing and expanding it as needed, by hunting, by having a large library of useful books, by having good friends close by. By learning to live without electricity and especially oil.
There will be riots if the economy or the oil infrastructure collapse but as with almost all empirical evidence (Argentina is a good example) it is mostly turned towards the government people are not going to be going door to door pillaging.
