Crappy customer service is something we have all been indoctrinated into thanks to Wally World...they get the ammo because they are big and have the buying power and contractual agreements with the vendors. We put up with waiting around for the ammo to be put out, being told that we can only buy 3 boxes, and then having to explain that 223 and 204 are not the same. I would love to have both customer service and selection. Maybe one day we will have that? Ed's Pawn in Stockbridge and Academy in McDonough do a good job....Ray and Tim always take good care of me at Academy and Ed's recently did a transfer for me. To be completely honest, I am at the point of online purchases and paying the shipping. Most of the time purchases are tax free so that covers shipping cost. I do like coming home from work and finding a box from Midway or PSA on the front porch. On another note, I got an email from Dicks saying the had 556 ammo for purchase online. Limit 3 boxes....so that is kind of useless...

What's my concern in a gun shop? If I see a lot of employees wearing 1911's with the hammer back I get a little edgy.

Yep. Safer than a Glock that way.
I don't mind paying a little more for good customer service.After all Wally world couldn't fix a peanut butter samitch w/o screwing it up.
Unless the "staff" are total jerks and/or unsafe, the main issues are having good selections and real world prices.
