Isn't this driven by lawsuits from several states against them ? As Glock capitulates, they will move on to other manufacturers.

You think Ruger is going to beat out Glock for LE contracts and consumer sales with a knock off Glock? LOL...no.
No, what I am saying is Glock created a product people liked; so much so other companies are making a very similar product. Now that they are removing the one thing they were good at and going to an entirely new system, they have to sell everyone on that new system. I don't know what gen 6 has to offer, but this would be reminiscent of a company like Harley dumping all their gas guzzlers V twins for EV only because government said gas guzzlers are bad. I see no reason to drop any of my Glocks to upgrade to a neutered version of a pistol only lawyers asked for. Or I can always buy PSA, Ruger, Shadow, etc.
How it this a neutered version? How is this akin to ICE vs. Electric? How is this an entirely new system?
Sounds like glock's about to learn the same lesson that cracker barrel learned not so long ago. I hope it don't have any effect, for the employees sake.
They're corporate slaves to the dollar. Instead of having some dignity and fighting the lawsuits, they're bowing down and making changes.
Dignity isn't a necessity for a company with shareholders, making money is.

I just said I wasn't sure what the new gen 6 has in store aside from the fact that evidently it will be designed so you cannot add a "switch" to it. Hence, my choice in the word neutered. Sounds like the previous 5 generations will be quite the detachment from their known work (and they are known for making one gun really). Or is anything I said here wrong?
