Lots of good doughnuts out there. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with Dunkin or Krispy Kreme, but the best doughnuts do not come from a national chain. Fresh from a local bakery are best. With Dunkin not all of them bake nowadays and Krispy Kreme are best when they're hot.
If you've not been there, it's worth a trip to either Sublime Doughnuts locations.

There's a little place on Cobb Parkway just south of TruPrep that's pretty good.
edit... Now I want doughnuts. Had to look it up, it's "Tip Top Donuts". A Dunkin opened up right next door to them a few years ago, the Dunkin is now gone.

Hard choice but i would say properly made apple fritters would be #1
Ray's Donuts on Canton Rd.! Best donuts around! I think they were tied as the number two spot in all of Atlanta! Personally, I think they're number 1 ! Cake donut is my favorite !!!
