Thanks Bro, I have done it works.depending on model year It's all about the check ball in the oil pump
several options for Panhead, Shovelhead, early Evos
clean seat & replace the spring & check ball , size = 3/8" (DO NOT STRETCH SPRING)
tap check ball with wood dowel to try and form better seat (usually doesn't work) but an easy thing to try without having to remove the pump
remove oil pump, use lapping compound on seat
to do this you use a new check ball
stick welding rod to ball so you have a way to lap the seat with the welding rod spinning between your palms
best - is to use an EVO push rod (perfect size & makes it easy to spin) to lap the seat, spinning the push rod between your palms
if your seat is bad it will show on the ball after a little lapping
clean all lapping compound from oil pump
reinstall pump using the thin paper gasket, no sealer
and don't snap the oil pump mount bolts
