Where do you guys go to the beach that doesn't cost a fortune?

Destin, Ft. Walton, Pensacola, Gulf Shores, Ala.

Beautiful white sand beaches and blue gulf waters....3 br condos have always been about 200-250 per day and they are very nice. I use VRBO.com as they have pics of the properties and you can see what you are getting.
These are nice quiet areas without the craziness of the high school, college undisciplined morons, you'll find older, more mature people and families in these areas.

With fees those rooms are closer to $600/day

Our go to place is Mexico Beach. About 50 miles south of Panama, more laid back.

I'm always in sticker shock when I see a 3 bedroom condo going for over $4k a week. Are there any "deals" to be had out there? Looking in the gulf area.

Cape San Blas, Indian Pass are both great areas and pet friendly beaches if you have fur babies. There are great deals to be had in both locations.

Cape San Blas for sure. If I'm going to the beach in the states, this is the one I'm picking...

Orange Beach check out the Island House, have not been in years but was a great value and place.

Cape San Blas for sure. If I'm going to the beach in the states, this is the one I'm picking...

Just don't go in late May or early June...the dang yellow flies will tear you up if there is no breeze.

Im not much of a beach guy either. I go because we like to get family together for a yearly trip and the beach is what gets people to commit. Id be happier with a nice remote cabin on a beautiful lake myself. My personal vacations are generally camping trips. Amelia Island is nice though. Not all touristy and is really clean with lots of wildlife and non commercial beaches. Great place for a motorcycle ride and I always take my kayak for a little fishing.
