My lease is in Taliaferro/Warren Co. I've been out every week since the season opened and so far I've only seen 1 doe. How is eastern GA working out for everyone else or am I just having a crappy season?

I think they have a copy of the DNR rule book and a calendar. Before the season started they were all over my back yard arounf the tower and in the field of pecan trees across the dirt road from me. And you could drive by slowly and sometimes they didn't even look at you. Since the season started I've only seen a couple and they were running at full speed.

The weather certainly has not helped. My lease by the city of Butler was a complete bust for opening weekend, one deer seen between 8 hunters, I have not been back since. A small farm I started hunting by the city of Madison has been very active. I've gone 3 Sunday afternoon hunts, two in heavy rain, seen small bucks and a few does every time. The weather must be keeping the activity down, but I think people are saying the next two weeks should be very active for rut. I plan to hit it harder later this week and next.

They will start moving when this front moves and cooler weather prevails, the rut is mostly from the lack of day light and all of the pics I have of bucks are at night, I have five different bucks scraping one Leland cypress tree at night.

Could be he "lockdown" phase of the rut in your area. The bucks are literally staying with the does and you are now seeing neither. They could be keying in on another nearby food source also. You'd be surprised how that can affect your once regular deer sightings.
