Which Red dot for this mount?

Oh no don't do that. Go get a primary arms dot for delta point pro. They're like $130 and miles ahead of anything on amazon.
Backflow, gotta agree with DeerLord here. Don't cheap out (if possible) on a red dot if you're wanting one to use in a life or death situation. If it's just for some range fun, I suppose you could, but for an extra $30, it's worth it.

But what if it works every time you take it to the range?

Im trying to put one on a ruger mkii that is not drilled and tapped. So I need to know if that mount will work with the primary arms red dot.

How are you going to use it?

If it is for short range target shooting, any size dot that you can see will work. The bigger dots are easier for shooting fast, but they will cover too much of the target for bullseye shooting at longer distances (greater than 25yards).

Bright sunlight requires a very bright dot.

Unless you are going to carry the 22LR as a self defense gun, I recommend that you consider the tube style red dots. They are bigger and bulkier but work well for target shooting. Most of them only require a Weaver or Picatinny Rail.

This link has a discussion on “no gunsmithing” mounts:

I have an old MKIII that is not drilled and tapped and believe that it would be easier to pay the gunsmith to drill and tap it for a rail. I say this after trying dot mounts that replace rear sights by way of the dove tail. They are hard to get tight enough not to tilt fore and aft. If you are a perfectionist, it will annoy you.

Final personal opinion: steel is better than titanium in this application. It is a small part, weight will not be a factor, steel is easier to fit.

Good luck.
