Who Won the Civil War?

This is sad, though I don't think that's the best representation of the current generation. I've lived all over the US and spent the Middle School years of my life in California. During those years they focused mainly on the California Gold Rush, maybe going into the Civil War in High School after I left.

Surely there were plenty of people that got the right answer, but they edited those out and just kept the footage of the morons in order to make a funny video.

You would be surprised. My brothers lived in San Francisco with there mom from about the age of 12 to 30. They are both incredibly smart people, above average probably. They complained about how the schools all of the time. The older of the 2 would right in his papers a lot "the book says" or "you have taught that". They would mark it up all the time and he would take it to the principal with the proof to get the grade changed.

Thank God they finally moved back over here. My youngest brother just moved back in May. They both live in Nashville TN, which is where we are all from.

I can definitely see that.

Being an Air Force brat I went to a DoDD run school for several years in Japan. What they taught us about the Civil War was WAAAAY different from what they were teaching in public schools here in Georgia.

It's really sad, but he could do those same types of interviews anywhere in the country and get many of those same answers..........(but kalifornia is eXTRa sPeCiAl )

With 600,000-800,000 Americans dead, nobody "won" the Civil War....

...but if the south had won, we'd have it made.

I'm quite sure this can all be addressed by increasing taxes so that more money can be poured into the Idiot Industrial Complex known as the public school system.
