You had 100$ total,
you spent 97
You owe mom 50, and dad 50.
If divided properly, you give mom and dad 1.50
Which means 48.50 you now owe mom and 48.50 you now owe dad.
But since you only gave them each a dollar,
49+49(that you owe) =98. 98-97=1(that you kept.) add your
dollar back=98, add your parents dollars=100
