Why don't we have a landfill in Henry Co?

I just thought with CC closing to HC resident then Spaulding would open to us but heck if not we are gonna see a ton of dump spots on the sides of back roads.

Yep. I dont want one for the obvious reasons but we need one to keep HC from getting any trashier.

Yep. I've lived in Henry for 25 years. When I moved here, you could go to Morrow or Conyers for a nice meal or a movie. You had to because there wasn't anything in McDonough. Both have since been ruined by the spreading, subsidized, parasitic cancer.

My house is for sale and I cannot wait until I never have to set foot/drive in Henry county again.

I used to say there was no where else I'd rather live but those days are gone. Just found out they're building 900 tract houses all around us. Roads are already tore all to hell from the traffic we have now. We haven't got the infrastructure to support the level of unbridled development taking place here. Our country commissioners have sold us out to the highest bidder.
After 35 yr's of shooting here I'm having to close down my little home range and the horror is I may have to join a gun club or maybe just give up shooting altogether.
I've told all the kids and the folks who usually come here if they want to shoot they better do it soon.

Change is inevitable but there is nothing wrong with well thought out and planned controlled growth rather than the chaos approach.

I've been hauling stuff to Clayton Co for years but they've shut it down to out of county residents. So can anyone tell me why one of the largest counties in the state does not have a landfill? Who do you get a hold of to get one established? County commissioners? I've got lots of stuff I'm going to be hauling off but not all at one time. So a roll off dumpster won't do me any good.

Can't answer the question, but have you tried the recycle center in McDonough off Hwy 20? Can take many things there including appliances, glass, plastic and more. No charge for leaving stuff there.

They wont take construction materials. Im gonna be hauling carpet, shower, tub etc. Wish I could take it there cuz thats right down the road from me.
