Does anyone know about a Winchester 04A. I've read about these guns patented in 1899, but mine is patented August 29, 1898 no SN. I am interested to know about this gun. There are 1904, 04 22, and 04A. This is marked S,L, and LR. When did the LR come into existance?? There was a .22 extra long, I think. Is this the some as LR?? The 04A is probably mod for the 1904 for the LR cartridge and was made well after 1898. Info on this gun is hard for me to find. Thanks for the help. Joe
