I recently picked up a Winchester 1300 Ranger 12 guage with a 28” barrel on a trade. It’s a fine looking gun, nothing fancy and has a good feel to it. I was trying to find out what year this thing is and can’t find any information on serial numbers for these guns.

Does anyone out there know where I could find a serial number list?

Thanks

Nice shotguns that have a couple of unique features, is your receiver aluminum? I'm working on a Sears model 200 which is virtually the same shotgun, however the stocks are a ***** to find a good condition slightly different and unique to the Sears Ted Williams...

My receiver appears to be aluminum. 28” barrel and has the Winchoke. I think they were made between 1981 and 2007. I haven’t found a lot of information. It’s a good shooting shotgun though.

The Winchester 1300 is a great shotgun. They are still in production as the FN P-12, but only as a “tactical” shotgun. They are still sold by Winchester in hunting configuration as the SXP, or Super X Pump, and in “Tactical” configurations as the Defender.

I always found their “inertia-assisted slide-action” smooth and fast.
