Working a new skill... blueberry wine

Great thread. It seems like you could make an airlock with the same idea as a water pipe. Just put your tubing in the wine bottle on one end and the other end into a glass if water about a 1/2". As it builds pressure it will vent some bubbles but there would never be a vacuum in the bottle to draw the water up the tube and into the wine bottle (or 2litter bottle)

let us know how it tastes

This was my solution to the sealed "bubbler"... tubing, zip tie, wine cork, and water:

hikingthehills suggestion would have been simpler- and probably cheaper if I'd had to buy the tubing.

And hikingthehills- glad to hear about the vines already in the ground! Those things take a long time to get going, but they do pay off for quite a long time. My mom's house has muscadines that have been producing for probably 40 years now. Very nice addition to any piece of property.

My dad made lots of different kinds of wine at home...still have a few bottles left. Good stuff but it turns after 20+ years...more like a creme sherry now.
