So, ive started going to the gym.

been running using the C25K (couch to 5k) app and have been liking it. been doing some light weight training on the machines before i start to get into free weights.

any advice from the health gurus on here?

also what supplements do yall use before and after workouts? I could use something to boost my energy before the gym.
 
Eat an apple 30 minutes before. I would use that when training for IronMan on my speed days. Also, drink lots of water! That keeps me energized. Good luck and DON'T QUIT!
 
i tried apples, but i just dont like them. I need to do better on water, i lost my water bottle though so i may stop and buy another before the gym tonight.

three days a week i work out before work so I need to get to where im not exhausted and sore as hell during work. someone said the pre/post workout shakes can help with that.
 
I take novem before workouts. It has a good bit of caffeine but it gives you a ton of energy without a crash. Try to take bcaa's before during and after your workout it will keep you from feeling fatigued and help with a ton of other things.(you can look that up) Lastly find a good protein to take I prefer whey protein isolate. O yeah take a good multivitamin in the morning to.
 
bcaa, is it a pill or a drink mix?

I cant afford to spend too much money on a bunch of different stuff so im hoping for best bang for my buck type things at this point.
 
you can get both my protein I buy has them in it. If you want to get up and get pumped to workout the preworkout is the way to go, protein and the bcaas will help with the soreness. I buy my things off of www.muscleandstrength.com they way cheaper than going to GNC and they are quick at getting your stuff to you.

Stretch before AND after your workouts. It's a huge help when it comes to soreness.

igotta ask how old are you to consider pre workout drinks ( high caffeine )
then the only supplement I would recommend is whey protein powder to use in lieu of meals ( if you are trying o lose weight ) you gotta tell me your goals and I'd love to help
