WShats the big deal about guns in church?

That's funny the Baptist Church my wife's family attended in South Carolina had armed Deputies in uniform at the doors when the offering plates were being passed. Big church lots of cash. Do they do that here in Georgia?

I like the idea of being able to carry in church but my church has multiple LEOs in the congregation who open carry and display their badge during the service. Any bad guy walking through the campus would see a bunch of badges and guns displayed for all to see, I would imagine that would be a heck of a deterrent.

My pastor WANTS concealed carry in our church, and it`s not a big church. Our ushers perform security duty,as it is.Pastor wants the right to decide who carries, though, and I see his point. There are people on ODT that I would not want around me with a loaded gun,if something bad starts going down.A few years back our church had to ban a person by court order.A few weeks later he was a workplace killer. He went to his past employer and shot several people.

I have long thought that churches would become targets of jihadists. I think it is only a matter of time before they get around to it.

(Of course, a dozen concealed carry guys could cause a little issue or two for them.)

I think a lot of people are already carrying at most churches. I do know that some of them hire off-duty officers to provide security as well.

We ain't in Mayberry no more. There really are some nasty people out there who would love to do some horrible things to church folks.
