WShats the big deal about guns in church?

I like the idea of being able to carry in church. I don't really like to rely on anyone for my personal safety or the safety of my wife. We have a "security team" at our church but I still want to be able to exercise my right to carry. If all goes well, we'll both be carrying in church.

Over half of the "58 states (according to obama)" allow guns in church either thru direct legislation or generally thru right to carry laws. Why is it such a big deal, nathan deal?

I often wondered if the no carry restriction was for the "church building" or actual "church services". A church may conduct other activities of a non-religious nature in the building. ie: pot luck suppers, wedding rehearsals, craft classes, etc., etc.

Exactly! No need to bring in the government to anwser this question. If the church votes for it why is it anyones concern?

That's funny the Baptist Church my wife's family attended in South Carolina had armed Deputies in uniform at the doors when the offering plates were being passed. Big church lots of cash. Do they do that here in Georgia?

If I couldnt walk up and talk to the preacher there aint no way I would set foot in the church.
