What's up with all this cannibal crap over the last couple of years?
Must be from snorting bath salts and watching zombie movies....

This guy appears to have some real problems if this is what he considers a hobby, but I am wondering what laws he has broken other than inappropriate us of police assets. Can we now be arrested for the sites we visit on the web and things we write? This sounds dangerously close to the thought police. I'm not saying no action should be taken, but I do wonder what charges he is being held on.

If I was his lawyer my first thought for a defense and explanation is that he was doing research to write a book.

saw this yesterday.. my favorite part was where they say he is a member on a website where people "fantasize about cannibalism"

WHAT!? log ip addresses and round em up

You do make a good point there sir. What did they charge him with? I watch the first 48 and read about mass murder. That does not make me a killer and does not mean im thinking about it either. There has to be more to the story. Like he bought items to do it with or something like that. Scary stuff. Im going to have to go back to watching mr rogers and playing with nerf guns.

He did photograph and make detailed notes on several would be victims. Thats got to be some sort of stalking charge. Other than that its all 1st amendment stuff. Oh the patriot act and its pesky grey areas.

It's the NYPD. They don't need actual evidence to arrest anyone. If such a thing as the thought police ever manifests itself, the NYPD will be the pioneering agency.

I never thought about the rights violations in this case, very good point.
Other than that, what would even make someone think of such a thing?
unless they were in a Donner party situation...
I just don't get it.
