I'm interested in getting into a retro AR to tinker with. It doesn't have to be rifle length, but I'd prefer it to be. I'll consider home builds and century rifles as well. Also, if someone has a source for triangular handguards and parts, as well as the proper upper and barrels let me know.

Everyone that knows me, knows I'm not a huge fan of modern tactical stuff. I mainly like retro stuff, it fits into my collection a little better. Don't get me wrong, I still have a few nice modern toys. They just don't put a flash in the pan for me.

My father served in Vietnam and was interested in same type of build. I found the triangle hand guards at apex gun parts, I believe they are out of Arizona.
 
Military Depot off hwy 140 at the Cobb, Cherokee county line has rifle length handguards, correct grip and butt stock as well for retro builds...

Don't remember the prices though.
