Those savages normally go for a lot less than $1500, but I'm not surprised that bass pro had something priced that high. Also I'm pretty sure the adjustable choke was added on by someone later. I don't think they had those when they used them for training.

Choke was added later.

Can't state positively for Savage. but Rem and Win did not mark chokes on barrels that had factory adjustable chokes, which was a factory option.

This one is marked cylinder, which is the appropriate choke for the purpose.
