I'm still trying to wrap my mind around cat burglars with suppressed weapons..

I know, right? I added welded-on cut and tamper resistant hasps and hidden shackle bumpless locks to my safes just as an extra 'bothersome'. Also have fully alarmed (window/door switches plus IR/movement detectors) to my alarm system and switched it over to cell tower comms - no L/L to cut). Only need time enough to pull out my gun and/or wait for the police 5 minutes down the road.

I'm in the market for a wood safe.
No, I don't mean the safe is made of wood; I mean a safe that I can keep my lumber in. Have you seen the prices of dimensional lumber and plywood these days???

You can rig a proximity switch to a electric alarm system. If the door is opened at all it sets off a array of loud a hell alarms only switched off with a combination rigged far from the safe. It easy quick and nobody is going to stand over a safe with world war three overhead. The safe has to be bolted to the floor for it to be cool proof.

I recently had to by a stud at HD.....it was $7.04.....outrageous... used to get them for just under a dollar back when I built my first house..
