Your Favorite (or not) Gun Shop. Let’s Hear It!

I live on the east side and like Clyde’s Armory in Athens. They always greet me when I come in and are usually really helpful. Franklin's down the road is the exact opposite and is full of @sshats IMO.
I agree 110%

Clyde’s is awesome. I wouldn’t piss on Franklins if it was on fire.

Academy is the worst I’ve experienced. I have been the gun counter countless times (well, okay, 7). Literally there staring at guns in the case, or on the back shelves, made eye contact with a staffer, and only once has anyone acknowledged me and asked if I wanted help.

Dahlonega Gold and Pawn is awesome. Best prices I’ve seen anywhere. And they’re just plain nice. When I called checking on a gun a few months ago, they were out of stock but they ordered one for me. I’ll drive an hour from Athens because I like them so much.

In Athens, I’ve had mixed experience at Franklin’s. One guy there was super nice, but I always feel like I’m interrupting them when I ask to see something.

Athens Rifle Club is friendly and they’ll answer all my dumb questions, but their prices are just higher than Dahlonega. This is my range membership. I go there to shoot all the time, but haven’t bought a pistol from them yet.

Clydes is usually nice, welcoming, and informative if you ask the right questions, but they can be expensive. Have great deals for LEO/military I’m told, though. Friends of mine swear by them.

The Sporting Arms in Winterville is great. Friendly. Sent me home with a free rifle case when I bought a .308 there. Cash discount, too. Good prices. And they give you good money on your trades.

Integrity Arms will make my first custom AR when I get the money to spend on it. Stopped in there a while back and had a great chat with the owner. Nice guy. Very well regarded by people I know.
