I love my 1911. Quite a bit in fact. But if I was only able to have one handgun, it would be my CZ-75, followed by my XDm. I actually compete the best with the XDm, but I have no doubt the CZ will have a longer operational life and is only slightly behind my XDm as far a s shootability.

Very effective but not so efficient at 7 yards or less.
But thrown from the window of the van at 7yds, vehicle acts as Level III body armor.
To me the "best" handgun is the most versatile handgun. For me that is my 6" barreled stainless Colt Python. It can function as self defense, woods carry, hunting....you name it. Rick on "Walking Dead" knew this, but I knew it before the show ever started. Best all-around pistol. You can expect accuracy with it to almost 100 yards. incredibly diverse pistol!
