I have done quite a bit of burned wood projects in the last couple years. Never done it on a Rifle stock though.

I like the look on this stock. I wouldn't want a bunch done this way; but it looks good done in moderation.

A bit lighter would be my personal preference, but as always, quality work Blip. 
I don't call that 'burnished' - more like 'burnt.' I prefer more natural myself....A bit lighter would be my personal preference, but as always, quality work Blip.

I was gonna say a little more burnished and a little less burnt, but tried to remember, "different strokes" and all that.
To me, burnishing is a type of aesthetic weathering. It should look old, not like it survived a house fire.
Not saying OPs is like that. Just describing what I'd expect if on the hunt for one.
To me, the width of the 'stripes' are too wide....I'd like a thinner width effect if that's possible. But in the end it's just taste... I'm afraid I'd just pass on this, frankly...I like it ! Gives it a ‘tiger stripe’ look
It is unique and looks great. I would sport it in a second !
