your thoughts on the ruger SR556

Hi just put thid gun on layaway would love to know if anybody knows anything about this gun

Great gun, posted this into another thread here last night on the SR556:

I've had one that has had plenty of rounds through it. It's definitely a heavy gun. On my list of things to do is to replace the quad rail with a lighter model. Mine is one of the early models, and had some slight carrier tilt, but nothing to worry about.



All in all, one of my favorite rifles, and gas piston to boot.

CMMG makes a gas piston AR. It's the LEP model. Very light weight. A little less expensive too. A lot of reviews favor the CMMG over the Ruger.
