I recently picked up a XDm for the wifey and I have to say she absolutely loves it. It is a pretty large pistol on a small frame woman, but the shooting factor appears to make up for her previous carry (G43).

I shot the thing, and yes it is a nice pistol but it's just not for me.

I picked up and XD which seems about perfect for the fall/winter my only complaint is the Glock 5ish type feel in the palm. (sorry glock fans).

Just curious (and I understand this is subject to opinion) but I would like to get your input on any differences, or benefits between the two (or the Mod2) from others who have carried both.

One of these is going to have to go, but it appears she is committed to the XDm 4.25".

Both are 9MM and NOT the compact (4" and 4.25")

Thanks in advance!

Yes it's raining so I am not staining today!

I've been using the 9mm 40 S&W and 45 ACP Tactical (long slide) versions for shooting pistol competitions since they first came out, thousands of rounds later still good as day 1. Got to admit I am also a Glock crack addict too.

Xd subcompact was my first carry gun. 9mm. Accurate and reliable...and top heavy...and squishy/spongey trigger...and long, not very positive reset...high bore axis...and a grip safety. I also had a full size .40 xd pistol. Xdm 45 compact. xd 45 compact. xds 4.0 9mm and xds 3.3 45. I got rid of all xd pistols and switched to glock. Never looked back. As for the xd mod 2. The inscribed "grip zone" was the dumbest thing you can do to a gun. For that reason alone its a deal breaker. Especially because there is no texture to the grip on the sides of the grip where it says "gripzone". Hearing about the company and their decisions i will pass on them.

Between the xdm and the xd, i preferred thexdm for ergos and feel when shooting em

My XD 40 sub compact works as long as you maintain it, my Glock works even when I dont. It is a nice pistol though and I didnt have to immediately change the sights. Other's I know that have XD's love them.
