He wasn't saying don't kill spikes ever. Meat is meat. Shoot a doe, too, if that's your purpose

Just don't kill them thinking they'll never be a proper mount-worthy buck and you're "helping" the gene pool.

in this day, time and environment, I'm surprised that's not the case... born a doe but identify as a (non antlered) buck....and wanting to play in all the reindeer games...lol

We had a board like that at ABAC with cut antlers from the deer pen, so
I certainly believe spikes 'grow' into bigger antlered bucks.... but I would still shoot one on my property. I only hunt to fill the freezer.

That's it. I've shot spikes that weighed 135lbs
