I have been trying to find a place were my kids can learn and practice competition pistol and rifle shooting. Does anybody know if there is a range, club, team, near Atlanta where it is done in an organized fashion and on a continuous basis (not just sporadic shootings events), like it happens with soccer, baseball, etc.?

I can find it for archery (ex: http://kennesawarchery.com/, http://www.learnarchery.com/BeginnerArcheryClasses.html) but not for firearms (or air pistols and rifles).

Sad that this not as common as it was 40 years ago. NRA rifle team met at the Citadel's indoor range twice weekly when I was growing up and many public schools had teams and even some ranges.

Good on Woodward Academy.

This probably isn't exactly what you are looking for, but you should still check it out. It provides a solid grounding in fundamental marksmanship principles, is family friendly, and affordable. Attendees under eighteen are only $20 for the weekend. We teach three position shooting, and a very similar course of fire to CMP and service rifle competitions. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Thanks guys :thumb:

Pickens and Gainesville are probably too far for attending on a continues basis but I'll check them out.
Thanks for the link to Appleseed. I'll send you a PM.
