I'm not sure if this is still an issue, but NoDak's were having an issue with rust around the center support. You can read about it here (Rust Issues). I had this happen to me before I replaced the center supports. I'll go with Childers from now on. They install the center supports after heat treating, so this issue cannot happen. YMMV.

I think both of your barrel options are excellent. I'm planning to use the Ak-builder barrel myself. I've had really good luck with his stuff so far, and the barrel being "in the white" is fine because the whole rifle will have to be finished.

you know,That makes a hellaluv alotta sense. Im having the darker ones barrel cut down to around 14 inches and having the flash hider/mb welded to it . Ths stoutest ak out

I recently made progress... chrome lined barrels came into stock at AK-Builder. So I ordered a couple.
I still have to get receivers - going to go with Childers for all of them - they appear to be pretty nice and I don't care about the lead time.

That's about all the progress that I've made.

I tinker here and there with them. I suggest looking at recreator blanks as well as childers for receivers.

Try building one yourself if mechanically skilled. You can purchase all the necessary tools at the links below along with a decent drill press and harborfreight 12 ton press.
