I am considering building my B.O.B using the Yukon pack design. To me it seems like a cheap and easy way to build a couple for my family. It is weather proof and can be tossed or hidden almost any where if needed and looks to be super versatile in the ways you can carry it. What are your guys thoughts on the Yukon design?

Cheap and functional? Yes.
Comfortable for long hikes? Highly doubtful.
I would consider this only, if my regular pack got damaged and I was already "bugged out".

I'm gonna build one and try it out for creature comfort, but I think they are cool as heck and the prices on bags are outragous these days. Shoot me a line if you know where some cheap ones are.

Not a bad idea if you cannot access your BOB and you to make do with things you have scavenged. If you are not opposed to milsurp packs try Government Liquidations retail site. You can get some really good deals.....it is all a matter of timing as the inventory changes. I picked up a new USMC GEN 2 MARPAT ILBE Main Pack (designed by Arcteryx) for $110.
