Zero Turn Mower Recommendations

After 10 years my John Deere D160 riding mower is on its last breath. Cost to repair it exceeds what’s it’s worth and the old girl is tired.

Looking to get in to the zero turn scene. I’m on a level 1.5 acres. Looking at all the brands….Toro, Husquvarna, Cub Cadet, John Deere, etc… I know twin cylinder is the way to go and overall I’m leaning towards Toro. Y’all school me please, I’m wide open for suggestions.

I have a Gravely 60 inch cut that I would recommend in a heart beat. I cut about 8 acres a week around the homestead. The only problem that I've had are deck welds breaking, I've been told that they improved them now.

What Dealers are near you? Stay away from big box store anything.

I have an actual Toro dealer in the area and John Deere. Next town over has a Hustler and Husquvarna dealer.

Are the big box versions poorer quality?

Get something made for commercial mowing. No Lowes/Home Depot units. Look for things like heavy gauge steel welded decks vs a stamped one. When I was still cutting my grass, I had a Ferris. Most comfortable mower I ever rode With the spring type suspension.
