The sensationalizing by the media is disgusting. However, a quick look at the facts do elicit some questions that must be answered.

The facts:


  • Trayvon Martin got in trouble at school in Miami and was suspended for 10 days.
  • His dad made him go to Sanford with him for the week so that he would not sit around the house enjoying his suspension.
  • Martin was at the house while his dad and the fiance went out for dinner.
  • He called his dad and asked if he could please walk up to the store to get some snacks because he was going stir crazy in the house. (my words)
  • It was extremely dark and was lightly raining.
  • Martin walked up to the store.
  • Martin was walking back to the house with snacks.
  • Martin was wearing a hoodie in the rain.
  • Zimmerman was leaving to go to the store to get his lunch for work the next day.
  • He saw Martin and called 911
  • Zimmerman followed Martin
  • Zimmerman lost Martin
  • Zimmerman went looking for him.
  • Zimmerman's flashlight wasn't working
  • Zimmerman suddenly came upon Martin
  • A fight ensued
  • Zimmerman got his butt handed to him
  • Zimmerman shot Martin.


In my opinion, the entire case rests on a few variables:
  • The nature of the fight / who attacked who
  • Can you resort to deadly force if you are in a fight and begin losing?
    • If yes, does it matter if you started the fight?

If you step back and look at it from Martin's side. What would you have done in the same situation? I can only say that, at 17, I would have jumped on someone following me and chasing me in the dark. I would have done my best to whoop their butt as well.

This is a tough one and, while Martin wasn't an angel, at this point I think Zimmerman screwed up bad and deserves to go to jail for manslaughter. I may change that as the evidence unfolds though.

I dunno. I think it boils down to who initiated the actual violence. If the kid jumped him and sucker punched him, and started pounding his head into the sidewalk... That's grounds for deadly force.

I wasn't there and I don't know, so it really boils down to who has the best story.

i learned how to stop one of these riots.i was watching the last one in atlanta in the mid ninetys live from the news copter.they destroyed everything in sight till they came to a liquor store.they looted it and made it as far as the park next to it. RIOT OVER
 
A jury of all women is definitely going to take the side of Martin. It's a known fact that females are more "Politically Correct" and "Liberal". And it's a known fact that Blacks are worth more 'PC Liberal' points than Hispanics.

George will be in jail, no matter the evidence for or against him. Whoever selected the jurors was a genius.

That's just the plain truth, doesn't matter if it sits well with you or not. Just like how Obama can feast on a baby's flesh on live TV and the same people will still vote for him, because hey, it's Obama.

If George goes free, I don't know if it will be a repeat of the London riots... which started when an African drug dealer got in a shootout with an English cop and the drug dealer was killed by the cop. Just about every African in Britain went on a rampage. But they know that the English population and police will just cower to them, so they know they can riot freely. But here, they will be less inclined to riot because people do carry guns. Instead we will just get 5 weeks of the NAACP making announcements on TV.

I'm willing to bet money on that outcome.

Agree. If Zimmerman initiated and got whooped then he should go to jail.All else aside, a teenager that was where he was supposed to be, talking on the phone to his girl while retrieving snacks for his little brother is dead for no reason. Zimmerman's own words will convict him.

If Zimmerman initiated the fight, he may be guilty of something, but murder is a stretch. Even if he said "Hey boy, whacha doing here?" at some point while his head was being smacked on the ground he gained the right to defend himself.

Zimmerman learned a lesson due many members here...You are not a badass when confronted with a true thug. That little wiry **** you outweigh by 50lbs may just beat your ass.
 
Does anyone know if this is an all or nothing case? In other words, can the jury find him guilty of a lesser crime or is it murder or nothing?
 
I haven't bothered watching any of this trial. Zimmerman has been convicted long ago by the scumbag media. And the jurors will make it official just to avoid riots.


"If Obama had a son" and all..... You can bet **** will get crazy if Zimmerman gets off.... But chances of that are extremely low.
